Foundry Division

One of the most modern foundries of its kind in the world... leading-edge core technology... sophisticated metallurgical testing conducted in one of the nation's finest, most complete laboratories... and a craftsman's desire to pour to the closest tolerances possible.

That's how we've earned the reputation as a reliable prime supplier of premium castings.

The Sheppard difference starts with a partnership with our customers from the outset. By involving us in the conceptual stage, our clients reap the rewards of our many capabilities: most notably a better product that's more efficiently engineered and more cost-effective over the long haul.

This complicated core is just one example of
our leading-edge core and mold technology.

The difference is reflected in our ability to perform the most complex tasks. Like blowing a core within a core. Producing booking cores vertically. Or pouring castings with up to 30-piece cores. And we have pioneered innovative uses for ceramic filter technology.

It is also reflected in the superior manner we handle the basics. For instance, few foundries provide pattern layouts like ours, with detailed prints showing exact locations of all gating and risering, and core box configuration. In this way, we inform customers of conceptual problems before the pattern is made. Better yet, we recommend solutions.

We offer pattern work in aluminum, steel, plastic, wood, and spray metal. And we provide expert craftsmanship from intricate masters through core boxes, gating, patterns, and mounting.

We produce grades of gray, ductile, and austempered ductile iron. We are also the largest supplier of compacted graphite iron in the United States, which in certain applications, provides the best combination of performance, weight reduction, and machinability.

All metal grades are poured to the highest standard and certification level possible to meet the variety of specialized needs required by our customers.
